VetStarts Founder, Army Combat Veteran, Husband, Father, Coach
When I came home from Iraq, after eight years of service as an active duty Army officer, I had to face that I no longer had a leadership role, a significant purpose, or the camaraderie of the warriors I had the honor to lead into combat. I was stuck, alone and self-medicating with alcohol.
I began searching for something that would bring my post-military life more meaning and purpose. My new mission became to develop the very best military transition program focused uniquely on the lives of veterans and military family members.
My quest led me to the late Bob Buford, author of the New York Times best-selling book, Halftime: Moving from Success to Significance and to enroll in the Halftime Institute.
Going through a Halftime program shaped my vision to launch the military transition program “Halftime for Veterans.” We provide a military-tailored version of the process considered by many to be the very best career transition process available.
Beyond VetStarts, I’m a husband, father, and follower of Christ. Barbara and I are celebrating 38 years of marriage, we have three adult children, live in Arlington, Texas, and are huge UTA fans. We attend Gateway Church in Southlake, TX.
